Last week of school!

Monday,Tuesday, and Wednesday:  We will finish reading Romeo and Juliet and take the unit test on Thursday during the first exam time.  The test will cover the plot, characters, and setting of Romeo and Juliet as well as all the terms associated with Shakspearean drama.  Also, the test will cover the background of Shakespeare and Elizabethan theater from the notes and the handouts. Study the notes, terms, quotes, etc. in the R&J packet.

  Then. . . Have a FANTASTIC SUMMER!!!!!!!

MondayAnimal Farm quiz chapters 6-10 and definititons of ethos, pathos, and logos.  Also, assignment #2, Propaganda in Animal Farm, is due.

 

Tuesday: the Poetry Notebook is due. We will spend the second half of the block having a poetry “coffee house” where everyone will do a dramatic reading of the one of the poems from his or her notebook.

Romeo and Juliet:  We’ll be reading this all week as well as watching parts of the movie.  The test for Romeo and Juliet will be next week during final exam time.

End-of-Course Test: Thursday and Friday (May 7 and 8)– We will review each day, Mon.- Wed., in class.  Please get on USA Testprep and work some of the practice tests/quizzes.

Poetry:  We finish up discussing poetry on Monday and take a poetry quiz on Tuesday.  (This will replace the last poetry quiz.)  Remember that the Poetry Notebook is due on Tuesday, 5/12.

Animal Farm: quiz over chapters 6-10 will be on Monday, 5/11 and will also cover the definititons of the rhetorical language: ethos, pathos, and logos.  Also due Monday is assignment #2, Propaganda in Animal Farm.

Romeo and JulietWe will finish discussing background information of Shakespeare, Elizabethan theater, and Romeo and Juliet on Monday and begin reading the play on Tuesday.  Bring textbooks to class every day.
