Monday:  The memoir rough draft is due.  We’ll be working on revision and editing skills this week.  The final copy (with pre-writing and rough draft attached) is due Friday, 8/29.  The final copy must be typed and formatted correctly.  You’ll get an MLA formatting sheet in class.  You can find one on this blog if you need a copy.

We’ll be beginning a poetry lesson this week.  Poetry will be ongoing throughout the semester, culminating with a project in December.  The poetry will lead us into reading of a play called A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry.  I’ll provide you with a copy of the play.  We’ll take parts and read the play in class while you’re reading TKAM outside of class.

TKAM schedule:  Part 1quiz– Tuesday 9/2 Part 2 quiz– Wednesday 9/10
